Tournament Poker Edge

Price: $19.95 per Month

Verdict: 8/10

Tournament Poker Edge is a focused MTT poker training site with hundreds of videos, articles, professional instructors and a forum.  It is one of the best places to imrove your MTT game and I can happily recommend it.

Tournament Poker Edge (TPE) Review

As far as poker training sites go there aren’t many that focus exclusively on MTTs.  This is what Tournament Poker Edge does and I have to say I’ve been impressed by their offer.

Because of their focus on MTTs from the beginning, most of their content is relevant to MTT players including al their articles and videos.  Their videos explain every aspect of tournaments including positional play, marginal pre-flop spots and when to “shove”.

The MTT video quality is one of the highest you’ll find.  At the moment TPE has 100 MTT videos and released about 5 new ones per week.  They are all fresh, up to date and cover different poker sites’ tournaments and stakes.  Of course we aren’t all high stakes $100 MTT players, so the fact they spread their MTT videos across micro, low and mid-stakes games is a bonus in my opinion.  NLHE is the main focus, as this is the predominant section of the market.

TPE has lots of other teaching methods too, including forums and over 100 MTT articles and blogs. The quality of these is extremely high and all are based on real-life hands that the pros have played through.

Coaches  & Team

Derek “Killingbird” Tenbusch (founder and contributor

The coaches and roster at TPE is impressive.  All of them are successful tournament players who have made it big time and who make for quality teachers.

Charles “Hagbard Celine” Sizemore has won nearly every regular online tournament at least once including the UB $200k Gt and Stars WCOOP Second Chance Event.

Ryan “HITTHEPANDA” Franklin and Janothan Wein also have accomplished more success than most in MTTs.  Wein has reached the final table of the Sunday Million on PokerStars twice and was recently #1 on the officialpokerrankings.com before being taken over by bigdogpckt5s” Jarzabek – who also works for TPE!

Conclusion

If you’re game is purely MTT-based then I recommend TPE above all other training sites.  I think the $19.95/month price is very cheap for the excellent and focus and quality of MTT training.

Although Deuces Cracked and similar poker training sites have a lot of MTT videos, I think the extra focus on tournaments TPE has makes it more valuable – you don’t have to scroll through tons of irrelevant videos for example to find what you’re looking for, plus 90% of the forums are MTT based.
