Introduction

Known mainly for SNG and MTT videos, Poker X Factor is one of the most established training sites on the internet. It was started by two extremely successful online players Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy and Eric “Sheets” Haber.

In addition to over 1000 videos, Poker X Factor has lots of articles, MTT quizzes, member blogs and a clever hand replayer which can be used with free membership.

Poker X Factor Review

Training at Poker X Factor is split into 3 parts, videos with commentary, hand quizzes and the PXF replayer.

The collection of 1,000 videos makes PXF one of the largest training sites. The main focus is of course on MTTs and SNGs and I think it does this very well. The videos are clearly instructed, organised and the quality is very good.

PFX’s hand quizzes make it different from other sites. These are basically pro’s hands replayed that pause at specific moments and ask you what to do. You don’t need to complete these or anything but by “doing” rather than learning it makes your game improve faster.

Another thing that makes PFX stand out is the large strategy resource which contains loads of pro MTT/SNG articles. They are very well written and I have enjoyed them. You can also read hundreds of membership blogs which give PFX a better community “feel”. You end up belonging to something which I think is nice.

The only downside to PXF is the lack of cash game NLHE videos.

There is also a forum which lets you post hand histories and get sound advice.

Conclusion

I know lots of MTT players who’ve enjoyed using PXF and recommend it above other sites. It is a great resource to improve quickly as tournament player and the quizzes are great. However I do think that the $120 activation fee is a little off-putting.
