Low Stakes Poker Tournaments

Welcome to my low stakes tournament guide.  Below you’ll find my recommended poker sites and specific MTTs for your bankroll.  Personally, I think new players who play low stakes tournaments are actually better off sticking to the low field games, or even large SNGs, to reduce the variance.  Low Stakes Poker Tournaments are events with an entry of $30 or less, including freerolls.

Party Poker – Go to Party Poker + $500 Bonus!
Party Poker runs a good number of  micro-stakes tournaments.  We recommend them for their daily selection of $1 – $15 buy-in tournaments. Examples of low stakes poker tournaments include the New Player Lucky Dollar ($1 buy-in), the $1k Guaranteed Speed ($2 buy-in), the $1k Guaranteed Regular ($22 buy-in) and the $500 Guaranteed Speed ($11).  Low stakes tournaments offered at Party Poker have a turbo structure.  This makes them easier and better suited for new players and beginners. See here for freerolls at Party Poker

Carbon Poker –  Go to Carbon Poker + $600 Bonus
Carbon’s low stakes tournaments offer the best value and most common overlays. The majority of their guaranteed daily tournaments all cater towards $0 – $30 MTT players.  Examples include the $3000 daily ($11 buy-in) and the $1000 Midnight with a $11 buy-in.  Carbon also runs regular micro stakes tournaments on a daily basis. The $2 Bounty Turbo ($1.20), $5 Holdem Turbo ($5.50), $3 Holdem Re-buy ($3.30) and $250 Guaranteed ($11) are just a few randomselections we’ve enjoyed at this level.  There are also good freerolls to players, for more information see best freeroll poker sites.

Past Low Stakes MTT Choices:

Full Tilt Poker – $600 Bonus!

Full Tilt Poker is an awesome room to kick back and build up a bankroll by playing MTTs.  From the moment go, Full Tilt Poker has a range of low stakes MTTs including exclusive $100k First Depositor Freerolls to help new players get started.  The 180 and 90 man MTTs at Full Tilt Poker are a great choice as you can play and finish these games in just a couple of hours from $5 in buy-ins.

A lot of the forum posters at Cardschat have suggested playing the 90 man $3+.30 turbo KO’s, which have 50 cent bounties.  If you’re interested in playing larger field MTTs, then you can enter the $100K Daily Dollar, which is the best value MTT for just $1 buy-in.  Other great games include Rush Poker Tournaments (starting from $5 buy-ins) and the Big Little games.
Ultimate Bet: Get a $1100 Bonus!

Ultimate Bet is another great choice for low stakes players from the US.  You can play low stakes tournaments here throughout the day, and UB’s MTTs tend to have softer competition and smaller fields than PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. This makes it easier to earn a higher ROI and build a bankroll faster to move up a level to mid-stakes MTTs..

The best value low-stakes MTT at UB is the daily $1k Guaranteed, which has a $1 entry fee, and is full of beginners who go bust too quickly.  Other low stakes guaranteed tournaments from day to day include the $2K Guaranteed ($15 buy-in), the $6K Guaranteed with Rebuys ($20), the $10K Guaranteed ($25) and the Sniper $3K Guaranteed ($6). Ultimate Bet also do a great range of deep stack events and bounty tournaments, plus they have their own monthyl MTT leaderboard and loyalty rewards program “Raise” which is the best in online poker.
